SUMMER CAMPS

We are excited to offer CV summer camps for six weeks during the summer of 2025!

DAILY CAMP HOURS: Most camps begin at 9 am and end at 1 pm. Rock Band Camp and History of Atlanta have longer hours so please see their descriptions for details.

BEFORE & AFTER CARE: Before care is available from 8-9 am for $60/week, and after care is from 1-5 pm for $255/wk.

Registration is only open to current CV families. Cancellations will not be accepted after May 2, 2025. On May 5, 2025 you will receive an invoice via email from FACTS with a link to make your payment.

No refunds will be processed after May 5, 2025.

All camp registrations will close at noon on the Friday prior to starting.

WEEK 1: JUNE 2-6

  • Camp Cliff Valley is a time to enjoy open-ended fun led by our own Cliff Valley staff. Campers will discover and uncover knowledge through experiences including fine and gross motor activities, art explorations, music and movement and collaborative games. Campers will enjoy a new theme each week. Creativity will be abundant through tactile and interactive play. Please dress your child in appropriate clothing for messy fun! Campers should be 3 by June 1st.

  • Get ready for a fun and active week! We’ll jump, skip, hop, twist and dance our way through a variety of fun activities and music, exploring different ways to move our bodies while having a blast. After we’ve worked up a sweat, we’ll unleash our creativity with some arts and crafts. Whether you love running around, dancing, yoga, or crafts, this camp has something for everyone!

  • Come join us in the Cliff Valley kitchen to discover the joy of cooking through safe, hands-on activities! We will spend the week learning to prepare simple yet delicious dishes while fostering each camper’s curiosity, independence, and motor skills in a fun, supportive environment.

  • Experienced, Orton-Gillingham trained teachers will provide targeted instruction to help rising Kindergarten - 3rd graders develop reading, phonics, spelling, and writing skills. The camp is designed for struggling readers, but students do not need a diagnosis of dyslexia to attend. A teacher recommendation is required. Student teacher ratios for the camp will be 5:1.

  • Dream, design, construct, assemble! Campers will explore various art making processes and materials to create sculptures. Campers will explore the artwork and processes of different artists like Brancusi, Louise Nevelson, Justin King, Monami Ohno, and many more. Campers will create sculptures using found objects, clay, cardboard, and other materials. Campers will build abstract sculptures, representational works of art, and everything in between.

  • Step into a world where the mysterious and the scientific collide! Young wizards-in-training don’t just learn spells — they discover the fascinating science behind the magic. Explore the wonders of chemistry, physics, and biology, and see how science can make every potion, spell, and experiment an exciting adventure!

  • Do you want to run sound and lights at Cliff Valley events? Interested in theater tech, band setup, or just think gaffer’s tape sounds like loads of fun? Join the AV Club Camp! We’ll explore the physics of light and sound, how to make things sound and look good on a stage, and how to get the most out of a band’s live performance. When you’re done, you’ll be fully qualified to run sound and lights for school assemblies, theater productions, and small band setups.

  • Explore our “Empire State of the South” and learn about its history through daily field trips around Atlanta. Hop on the Atlanta Trolley tour to start the week with a 90-minute narrated tour to get a general overview of our interesting city. Throughout the rest of the week, the group will experience all of the interactive and enlightening exhibits that the Atlanta History Center, The Swan Coach House, The Delta Flight Museum, Chick-fil-A Headquarters, The Waffle House Museum, and the Apex Museum have to offer. Each day, we will enjoy lunch in one of Atlanta’s picturesque parks or famous eateries, which each hold history of their own, and when there's time, we will work on cooperative scavenger hunts around the city. Let’s experience these local wonders together!

  • Let’s spend the week taking some time for ourselves! Come learn about the importance of self care —slowing down, breathing, and embracing the beauty of the present. Through a variety of fun and relaxing activities, we will practice ways to calm our bodies, create joy, and discover how self-care can be fun and rewarding!  Each day, we will explore ways to nurture ourselves, including artistic expression, aromatherapy, yoga, and music. These creative outlets and mindful practices will help campers develop tools they can use at home and school to feel grounded and centered, and connect with the world around them in a peaceful, positive way.

  • Hola! Jambo! Sawatdee! Calling all global and adventurous travelers. Grab your passports and join us for an around the world staycation where we will explore the music, dance, art, languages, and games of exotic lands. Each day we will travel to a new exciting country and expand our cultural horizons. Adios! Arrivederci! Goodbye!

  • Get ready for the ultimate adventure! Inspired by the hit TV show, this action-packed camp will challenge you both as an individual and a team. Test your skills in a variety of thrilling group and solo challenges, including physical competitions, puzzle-solving, and obstacle courses. Beyond the gameplay, you’ll learn essential survival skills like shelter building, first aid, fire-starting, and water safety. With every challenge, you’ll work together to earn rewards, build alliances, and prove you’ve got what it takes to outwit, outplay, and outlast the competition.   • Discover the many awesome day hikes around the Atlanta area. We choose different hiking locations every summer so join us as we explore the trails we’ve selected for 2025.  We'll also spend a day at Treetop Quest ziplining and navigating their ropes course. Campers should come wearing weather-appropriate clothing and shoes suitable for walking longer distances over uneven terrain. Campers are expected to carry their own day packs with plenty of water and a lunch and snack we will eat on the trail. In the event of severe weather, indoor activities will involve hands-on outdoor skills, sports, and games on-site at Cliff Valley.

WEEK 3: JUNE 16-20

  • Join us for a week-long gardening club. No green thumb required! Campers will help tend to the school garden, learn planting techniques, explore what’s growing on the nature trail and discover how much gardens can provide.

  • Come spend the week playing a variety of indoor and outdoor games ranging from PE class and sports club favorites to classic sports - some with a fun, new twist! Come prepared to learn, laugh, run, show good sportsmanship and have a great time!

  • The fundamentals of volleyball will be the guiding principles this summer. Passing, being vocal, moving with the ball, and working on hand-eye coordination is what's in store during the camp week. Bring appropriate gear (kneepads and foods for endurance) and a willingness to learn and work hard. See you on the court!

  • Join us for an action packed week of cooperative games and problem solving activities. We will work in teams to conquer obstacles and tackle challenges.   • It’s time to get ready for Kindergarten! A balance of learning, playing and following the daily routine will help prepare your child for the Kindergarten year to come. Campers will gain awareness and confidence for when they enter the classroom the first weeks of school. They also will have a chance to meet new friends and make connections that will carry over into the school year.

  • Through engaging activities, hands-on projects, and interactive lessons including traditional dances and games, campers will gain a deeper appreciation for the customs and histories of several Spanish speaking countries.

  • Do you want to be the very best, like no one ever was? Is catching them your real test, and training them your cause?! If so, don't miss Pokémon Trainer Camp! Our days will be spent learning about and exploring the amazing world of Pokémon, from the trading card game to the show, the video games, and everything in between. There will be games, activities, and crafts, all inspired by the international phenomenon. Come to Pokémon Trainer Camp if you want to have some summer fun—it'll be super effective!

  • Have you ever wondered what would be running through your mind as you trek through unknown terrain? What would you be feeling? What dangers are lurking around the corner? Well, the brave explorers that we will be studying this week also went through those emotions; they not only conquered their feelings, but new worlds, as well! Come dive into a few explorers' lives and learn how you, too, can conquer new challenges!

  • Did you know that Georgia is home to the world’s largest exposed granite dome, formed over 300 million years ago? Geologists, the scientists who study Earth’s physical features, have learned a lot about our planet by examining rock layers in the crust. Each layer tells a story, with unique rocks and fossils revealing clues about Earth’s distant past. Join us for an exciting week where you'll become a geologist and explore Georgia’s rich geological history. Discover how rocks are formed, what fossils can tell us, and why Stone Mountain is such a unique natural wonder!

  • Grab your digital camera and come join the fun! Learn some of the basics of digital photography. Students will explore post processing, and experiment with light, subject, and composition to create and tell different stories through images. Have fun capturing moments around Cliff Valley and practicing what you learn at home. It's a snap!

    *Equipment needed: A DSLR camera and a computer are required for this camp. No phone cameras. Students should have any necessary cables or converters to transfer pictures to their computers. Students may also find their camera manual to be useful.

WEEK 5: JULY 7-11

  • Join us for an action-packed week of making art! We’ll splatter, throw, drip, flick, brush, pour, and roll as we create abstract art in the style of action painters like Jackson Pollock and Joan Mitchell. Campers will enjoy experimenting with unconventional processes and tools to push the boundaries of traditional painting methods, and embrace the spontaneity and creative spirit of process-based action art.   • Do you have what it takes to be a scientist?? OF COURSE you do! Join us for hair raising and hilarious experiments. We’ll use our senses to observe, measure, record data and communicate our findings all while having lots of fun!

  • Join us as we travel into the world of cooperative board games. Throughout the week campers will play new and novel games where players work together to achieve a common goal. Strategizing and relying on your teams' strengths will be the key to defeating the real opponent: the game itself. You and your team will defend a kingdom from invasion, repair a spaceship, read minds, set off dazzling firework displays, rescue beloved family pets... and more!

  • CV Techwise focuses on developing computer skills for younger students that they will use in their classrooms to assist teachers and students. They'll practice typing skills, learn how to use Google programs for word processing and presentations, and hone simple online research skills. Throughout the week campers will also have the opportunity to learn to use Scratch Programming and Code.org. Students who successfully complete the course will become certified members of the CV Techwise team!

  • Rock Band Camp is for musicians who have experience on their instrument, including 1 year of private lessons, stage experience, or particular aptitude for an instrument. Campers will be put into bands, and will spend the week learning songs with the support of an instructor. They work together with their band to create a short set of songs for a performance at the end of the week. This show will take place on Friday evening, so bring your family and friends and get ready to rock out!

    *This camp runs from 9 am to 3 pm. Friday there will be a 1:00 pm dismissal to prepare for the evening performance. Attendance to all days of camp and Friday performance is mandatory.

    *There will be limited availability (5 drummers, 5 bassists, 5 singers, 5 keyboards, and 10 guitars and/or ukuleles—other instruments will be considered depending upon reasonable application).

  • Get ready to cook up some fun! This hands-on camp will teach you essential cooking skills while helping you strengthen important life skills like budgeting, planning, and time management. You’ll develop your own recipes, shop for fresh ingredients at Your Dekalb Farmers Market, and learn how to stick to a budget. Each day, you’ll tackle new challenges with a “secret ingredient” that will inspire your creativity in the kitchen. After preparing your dishes, you'll share your tasty creations with friends!
